Healthy… with a chance of chocolate

Hey guys,

Today’s post is not so much of a review but it is instead..an announcement of sorts. I’ve decided to embark on a healthy lifestyle-esque mission. No diets… no crazy gym sessions… just downright good ol’ fashioned healthiness. It’s not so much about losing weight but more to just shake myself up a bit and get back on track health-wise. I figured the only way to motivate myself, would be to record this “journey” here on my blog, where all you lovely readers out there are witnesses and in a sense my motivators.

I’m a food-obsessed girl.. I enjoy eating…and eating a lot. I will not be going cold-turkey on all the foods i love… I’ll just be applying the rule of moderation.

I put together a little “4-step plan” for myself.

  • Exercise more
  • drink more water
  • eat healthy and light
  • moderation moderation moderation

I’m a vegetarian.. so vegetables and fruit are already luckily a huge part of my daily meals. My pain problem is portion control… why have a slice of pizza when you could have an entire wagon wheel to yourself??….

I’m also perty lazy when it comes to exercise.. So i think this will be the main issue for me.

I hope to share my trials and tribulations with y’all. Perhaps share a few of the recipes of the meals i prepare and any tips I encounter on the way.

This is gonna be a toughie for me, so your support would mean a lot! Anybody with any tips or even some healthy recipes would be awesome and gratefully accepted.

Please leave any comments/tips below… or let me know if you’re part of a healthy eating regime at the moment too..

That’s all for now guys, thanks for reading… I’m off to eat some lettuce…. (I joke, I joke)

Bye Kx 🙂

    1. Ha thank you! It’s so true… there’s very much a huge chance of chocolate! Ha!

      1. Hahah.. but there’s just something so endearing about chubby pets.. the chubbier the better I say.. more to cuddle into!

  1. Ha ha. I love the picture of the cat!

Good luck with your health and fitness goals! My main advice is just to take things slow. Usually making a series of small, easy changes (like, one a week… or month) works a lot better for long-term health than trying to blitz into an “I will work out every day and only eat non-seasoned meat and raw veggies!” approach.

It seems like you already know that, but I figured I’d just re-state it because so many people seem to have trouble with thinking about the long-term issues. Enjoy the healthier lifestyle! 🙂

    1. Thank you so so much! I will definitely take all that on-board! I’ll admit I have gone down the route of going completely cold-turkey on everything and exercising every single day before..and it didn’t last. I want to change my lifestyle more so than just diet and try lose weight quickly! Thanks again for the comment and your support! 🙂 x

    1. Ha me too! And it’s so true! I’ve tried it a little bit years ago and really liked it…so I think I might pick it up again.. thanks for reminding me! 🙂 Do you go to yoga classes or do you use a dvd etc?

      1. Both–I have a few DVD’s Shiva Rea is awesome…i also do it during work at lunch with a small group of ladies 2-3 times a week. The feeling of serenity after yoga is the best 🙂

      2. I’ll have to check that out! We have a few classes here in my town so I might join them for the summer. I’m not really the sporty type, so yoga is right up my ally. 🙂

  2. Funny Post, thanks for coming through and checking out my blog. I hope itll help a little with your new goals! Sometimes its hard to get to the gym, but little changes matter. For example, take the stairs instead of the elevator, go for a walk and maybe next time a jog, even if you arent sporty try playing tennis or basketball or an active sport just to goof around and if your really bad at it, youll most likely get more of a workout chasing the ball around LOL. If you are a member of a gym try out their classes, believe me all of the above is a lot more fun and fast rather than doing an hour long cardio session on a treadmill! I’m sure you will do just great and announcing it on your blog means you have to keep up with it now!!!! Good for you! -ill be checking back in soon! ciao – M

    1. Wow thank you so much! i definitely agree with you.. I’m gonna try and find fun ways to exercise. I’ve done the whole long sessions on the treadmill and exercise bike..and it gets very boring. Thanks for your support and your lovely helpful comment! Look forward to hearing from you again! 🙂

  3. Hey! I loved your post! I am on a fitness regimen myself! I have been doing moderate changes than jumping in head first as I always do!-_- lol so this time it seems to be working even though I HATE well dislike exercise it is a must do! I was thinking of picking up Pilates but not sure yet…. Anyhow good luck on your journey!

    1. Hi there! It’s so great to hear from somebody else who is in the same boat as me! Yeah I really hate exercise too.. but it has to be done in order to see any real results! Pilates looks like so much fun! You defo should! Good luck on your journey too and please keep me informed on how you are getting on! 🙂 Thanks for your lovely comment!

    1. wow thank you so much and I’m so glad that I made you laugh! Looking forward to reading more of your blog too! Thanks again! 🙂

  4. Yay for healthy regimen! And please, chocolates are healthy. Just have them dark and in the first half of the day 😀 Unless you like milk chocolate and white, then have it before lunch. Also, thanks for visiting!

    1. Hi there! Thanks for the comment! Ha there’s no fear of me ever giving up chocolate.. I love it too much! 🙂

  5. I just began a plan to loose some weight and fix my bad stomach. I’ve lost 7 pounds so far. I’m just eating really SMALL portions about 5 times a day and counting the calories. So far it’s working. Good luck to you!

    1. Wow! Well done! 7 pounds is awesome! Best of luck on your weight loss plan! Please check back in and let me know how you’re getting on regularly! 🙂

  6. My only suggestion at the moment is, exercise at the crack of dawn, as soon as you roll out of bed before your brain has a chance to protest. It’s the only way I get me runs in. If I lie awake thinking for too long, it doesn’t happen. 🙂

  7. Your blog looks like a lot of fun, I’m following 🙂 Thanks for following my blog x

  8. I’m trying to become much healthier as well (except mine is also about losing weight!) I already gave up soda and other sugary drinks a few weeks ago (I’ve really been drinking only water lately) and I feel better. Also – I am starting to be more conscious about what I’m eating. Yesterday for example I had a sandwich for lunch and the top slice of bread fell on the floor. Instead of grabbing a new slice, I just put a slice of lettuce on top and ate it like that instead. For me, I think it’s all about a lifestyle change and I know that if I tried doing it all at once, it wouldn’t work. Instead, I’m implementing smaller changes so they become part of my daily routine before I start another one. It may not work for everyone but so far for me, I feel great about it! Good luck on your journey to a healthier life!

    1. Hey there! Wow sounds like you’re doing well. You’ve got a really good attitude about it. Lots of people try and do everything at once and expect miracles. But if you starve yourself.. the weight will only eventually pile back on. Best of luck with the healthy eating and weight loss. Please let me know how you’re getting on! 🙂 xx

    2. I’m pretty much doing the same thing 🙂 I now check nutrition labels on everything i buy. Also i’ve been running 4 times a week for about a month. It really helps with weight loss

      1. Yeah, it’s good to know what you’re putting into your body. Before I used to just look at calories but its important to check the sugar and fat content too. Running is an excellent way too.. I’ve recently started using an exercise bike that we have here at home.. really handy for those yuck rainy days that we have here in Ireland so damn often! 🙂
