Take a load off with Clinique

Skincare and myself have quite the turbulent love affair. While I love to try out the latest cult skincare brand or dabble in something I’ve never tried, my skin simply will not allow it! It’s habitual and stubborn and HATES change.  Over the last few month’s I’ve been literally addicted to skincare specialist Caroline Hirron’s blog BeautyMouth (http://www.beautymouth.com/), and as a result, I have been producing some serious skincare wishlists.  On top of my wishlist was a newbie for me… a cleansing balm.  Caroline is very honest with her reviews and this product came up tops so I knew I had to get my hands on it. Finally i decided to ignore my skin’s wishes and decided to give this bad boy a whirl…and boy am I glad!

Firstly, I want to start out by saying that this cleansing balm is by no means anything fancy or revolutionary, but what I love about it is that it does what it promises. Simple as that. True to its’ name, it takes every morsel of my make-up off leaving smooth clean skin.  It doesn’t cause any irritation which in my books, is a winner right away AND it even gets rid of stubborn eye make-up!

I use this cleanser every night as I feel there’s no need for it in the morning. It acts as the “first” of my double cleanse ( I follow with Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser) I feel this balm works best applied to dry skin with fingertips. The balm turns to an oil-like texture with the heat from your fingertips and works really well at dissolving all the grime from the day.  I use a clean flannel to remove the balm,.. I get mine in bulk, cheaply at Pennys (Primark) but you can pick these up anywhere.

As to this cleansers suitability, I would say that it is an all round people’s skin pleaser. It is a dry-skinned lassies dream but I feel even the oilier girls can get away with this one as the oil is light and doesn’t leave any residue once properly removed.

This cleansing balm cost me a mere 28 yo yos and is available at Clinique stockists worldwide!

So hurry, jump on the bandwagon and take a load off with Clinique’s Take the day off Cleansing Balm!
